When hunting Moose you should consider two things: 1. the weather, 2. where Moose like to chill.
During my adventure to Colorado I discovered that both of the hunting criteria was not in my favor. Upon landing in Denver I discover the damp, foggy/raining weather that clouded my view of wide open space (strike one).
As I traveled north to the Rock Mountain State Park, I had high hopes of clearing weather and a Moose siting. Much to my disappointment the higher I climbed into the State park the less visibility there was. Since Moose prefer wet, swampy areas I thought I just might get lucky- but never the less they were obviously hiding from the nasty weather, much the same way that I should’ve been (strike two). -alas my quest for a Moose was squashed for the day.
My second day I decided to try my look further Southwest. Upon leaving the city life of Denver I was captivated by the most beautiful wide open spaces.
Wide open ranges, antelope, buffalo, horses, sleepy snow capped mountains with radiant sun beaming all around the peaks. Beauty at its best.
On the fourth and final day, my quest for Moose ended- it wasn’t meant to be. But it was meant for me to view mountains and wildlife that photographs cannot do justice. If you have never experienced an actual breathing taking view then you should pack a few things, head West and allow your eyes to revile in the natural beauty that is God’s creation. If Moose hunting is on your agenda, take a photo for me if your hunting conditions are prime!

My experience is that Alaskan moose are very friendly! Even though you missed the moose, your pictures are really beautiful.
